Sam Lakin

I joined AST in 2020, although it still feels like yesterday! I’ve always been fascinated by languages and the power of translation to bring people together. After graduating with a BA in French and German from the University of Nottingham in 2016 and studying for a Postgraduate Diploma in Translation Studies, I got my first taste of professional translation as an in-house translator for a Nottinghamshire-based vehicle tracking and telematics provider.

Since joining AST, I’ve already learned so much about the translation industry, both as a translator and on the other side of the desk as a Project Manager. One of my favourite aspects of my new role is that it allows me to constantly learn and develop alongside an amazing team who share my love of languages.

Away from the office, I enjoy reading, hiking, golf and supporting my beloved Mansfield Town Football Club.
